Travellers across the globe prefer to visit Kerala in Summer and Winter but in rainy season starts from June to September it appears that the tourists avoid journey to Kerala may be due to bad weather conditions in the State.  Kerala is  famous for its stunning beaches and lush green landscape spread across north to south.  There are a number of pick places to visit in the State.

Some of them are -

Resorts, Hilltops, Hotels, Restaurants and Lakes:

Vishu is a festival held at Kerala, the gods' own country, where all that many festivals are celebrated with lot of enthusiasm and fervor. Like Onam celebrated in the month of August-September, Vishu is also another celebration for Keralites celebrated on 14th April, every year.  Vishu is celebrated as starting of the year in the month of April every year.  Vishu celebrating date never changes as it comes on the 14th of April every year.

Vishu is more famous in North Kerala than South Kerala, it is practise that all Keralites will celebrate Vishu but somehow it has more importance in North Kerala as compared to South Kerala.  In South Kerala Onam has got so many additional games and the celebrations will continue for 10 days from Atham Naal(day).

As part of celebrations everybody will wear new clothes, buy food articles and gold ornaments.  Another attraction is buying fire crackers to make the celebration more lively and bursting it on the Vishu Day early morning to announce the arrival of New Year and giving adieu to the Old Year also for which Vishu Kani has been set to welcome the New Year.

Now a days some families of  Kerala also celebrate Diwali but not on the wide angle but followed in some of the places.

The normal practice for celebration of Vishu is that people get up early in the morning to see the VISHU KANI made in the previous night displaying vegetables,  Jackfruit, Rice, Coconut, Kerala Cucumber, spices, Cash, Kani-Konna flowers, full of light enriched in a room and in the middle photo of Lord Shree Krishna.  This Kani with full of light is very appreciating bonanza to the eyes. The time of Vishu Kani is 4.00 AM to 5.00 AM on 14th April or on the Vishu Day Morning.

Other specialities of Vishu is to prepare different variety of dishes to have sadya in the lunch hours.

The relatives gather at one place to share vishu wishes to each other and also give Kaineettam (new currency notes or new coins) to their relatives and kids and the kids greet elders by touching their feet.

The yellow flowers (Kani Konna) is used to decorate the home (for Kani) on the day of Vishu, it is a solemn practice followed by all Keralites.

Overall, Vishu Celebration is a very wonderful experience for all the Keralites and travellers.
